Great case study that certainly sets the example on how nonprofits can create initiatives that captures a donors attention and ultimately their support. Your tips on how they can further these initiatives are spot on. Now a days there is so much competition for the donor dollar that it's important for nonprofits to be creative in how they fundraise and creating a personal connection is VERY important as it's an integral factor in fundraising according to a recently released Blackbaud report which I've written about: http://www.miratelinc.com/blog/3-factors-affecting-nonprofit-fundraising-according-to-blackbaud-survey/

This was VERY helpful! We are a non-profit embarking on a capital campaign soon to raise money for a boathouse that will provide oar and paddle sports to the greater Dallas community, including those with disabilities. This approach is what we have been talking about conceptually, and your article gave a real-world example of how successful that approach can be. Thank you very much!
